The fees for a contact lens exam depend on the level of complexity of the fit and whether you are a new or previous wearer. Fees for previous contact lens wearers start at $59 for a standard fit up to $275 for complex fits (for keratoconus/irregular corneas, Ortho-K, or scleral lenses). For new contact lens wearers, fees may range from $99 up to $425. The fee includes:
Prescriptions
You will receive a copy of your contact lens prescription free of charge at the completion of the contact lens evaluation. Prescriptions for contact lenses are valid for one year from the initial contact lens evaluation date. Any replacement lenses needed after one year require a complete eye exam and a contact lens exam. Your signature certifies an acknowledgement of receipt of the contact lens prescription.
Refunds
Within the first month, if either you (the patient or parent/guardian) or the optometrist decide to discontinue the contact lens fitting process, you will be granted a refund of 33% of the fitting fee. If, within 90 days, you purchase contacts from our office and then change your mind, you may return boxes that are undamaged and unopened and you will be refunded in full minus a $10 restocking fee.
- Update the prescription of the lenses and make any necessary adjustments according to specific needs (e.g. improve reading, improve distance, or improve computer vision)
- Make sure the contact lenses are fitting properly
- Evaluate the health of the cornea and ensure that the eye is reacting well to the contact lenses
